My Norwalk Valley layout is loosely based on the New Haven in South West Connecticut in the mid 1950’s. The layout was built in modules as I was worried about committing to a layout that I might have to throw away should I move. It was fortunate I did as the layout was originally designed to fit in a 28′ x 16′ basement and following a move from NW England to Scotland in 2016 I had to fit the layout into a 16′ x 8′ single garage. All that this has caused is some re-laying of track work in Georgetown.
This is the current trackplan.

The first module built I called Georgetown it was a 8′ x 3′ portion of a small town that was portable and could be taken to model railway shows with staging yards.
The Second module I called Cannondale and this was 10′ x 26” and was designed to be a the end of the branch, the line having continued in the past so that I could add additional modules in the future.
The two modules were connected with a return curve which also allowed the extension of the passing loop in Georgetown. For now there will be a temporary fiddle yard and the layout is run as a branchline on one level. I am hoping to extend the layout with a second level unless I can obtain more real estate in the future.
