O Scale:
My layout is a U shaped branchline in my Garage, this is called the Norwalk Valley Railroad and fits in a space 16ft x 8ft. Its not alot for O Gauge. Originally designed for a 28ft x 16ft basement i had the forsight to build the layout as lots of modules so the layout sections i had built were salvaged to fit this smaller space with only 2 new boards needed. I am working on what I am calling the Norwalk Valley Tour piece which will be a 12ft x 18″ exhibition layout that is better suited to being on the road than the current sections.
When i was teenager my dad purchased Basin St a 16ft x 2ft exhibition layout built by Manchester Model Railway Club. Despite many house moves and discovering beer and ladies, I still have the layout and use it to run my modern image HO locos and stock.
I recentley built a 6ftx18″ modern image switching module for my NMRA Golden Spike work and there is a strong possibilty in the near future for the expansion of Basin St with some addition modules.
British Outline:
As if all this wasn’t enough i am also working with a group of modellers on my fathers 40ft x 20ft O scale British Layout, Roe Green. This is going to be british outline based on a real location just outside Manchester and built on multiple decks. I have built baseboards and scenary as well as working on the rolling stock and DCC system. So far 70% of Deck 1 is complete with the Fiddle Yard being added this winter 2016 with Level 2 starting in the Spring of 2017.
