The Cheap and simple way to keep glue off your work bench. 

When gluing models its easier to take a small amount of glue with a tooth pick or similar and apply it to the area where you want to glue. You can’t do that from the bottle of glue or it will go everywhere. One really simple tool no workshop should be without is a ceramic tile, you might have one left over from a home renovation project or you can buy a sample tile from your local hardware store. Once the tile gets really messy with glue you can just scrape it clean and use it again.
